The National Council of YMCAs jointly with the Dhaka YMCA arranged a Condolence Meeting on the evening of April 19, 2002 at St. Christina's Church Auditorium to pay homage to Late Susanta Adhikary who was called home on February 21, 2002.

Mr. Babu Markus Gomes and Mr. Prasanta Francis Rozario Presidents of the National Council of YMCAs and Dhaka YMCA respectively, inaugurated the meeting by igniting  candles and placing floral wreaths at the picture of Late Adhikary.

Opening prayer was offered by Mr. William Biplob Sammadar, Vice President of Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha (Apex Body of the Baptist Churches of Bangladesh) while Rev. Paul Shishir Sarker, Principal of St. Andrews Theological Seminary presented biblical reflections.

Dr. S. M. Chowdhury, the President of B B C S, spoke on the occasion, along with Mr. Babu Markus Gomes, Prof. Gabriel Manik Gomes, Mr. Promod Boiragi, Mr. Subash Ratna and Mrs. Shelly Adhikary spoke on the occasion, recalling their association with Late Susanta Adhikary, highlighting the remarkable deeds of his life.

The Meeting concluded with the Closing Prayer lead by Rev. Arturo Speziale, Parish Priest, St. Christina's Church.

Members of National Executive Committee, Members of Dhaka YMCA and the lay from different walks of the society including family members of Late Adhikary attended the meeting.
