Local Youth Conferences

 

 

BOGRA YMCA

Bogra YMCA Youth Forum organized a half-day youth conference on 4th May 2001 in the conference room of Bogra YMCA with the participation of nearly fifty youths. 'International Year of Volunteers - 2001' was chosen as the theme of the conference. 

The speakers laid emphasis on voluntarism and they also put the youths in mind of its nobility. The participants echoed with the speakers and prepared some recommendations through the group discussion among them. The topic fixed for their group discussion was - 'The role of the volunteers, building the country happy & prosperous.' The recommendations were -

* Offering the highest cooperation to the concerned organizations, involved in voluntarism.
* Building strong network in implementing voluntary activities nationally & internationally.
* Remaining poised to provide voluntary services at the moment of national disaster.

 

BARISAL YMCA

With the participation of 30 youths, a half-day youth conference was held on 27th April 2001 at Barisal YMCA. They chose 'Sound environment is the pre-condition of sound life' as the theme of their conference.

The main speaker put up an attractive speech analyzing this issue. The proposal came out from the group discussion of the participants was - "Creating the sense of mutual fraternity, all the countries of the global village should broadcast the law of Environment Protectionism in mass media along with increasing mass awareness to protect the environmental balance, afforestation, well-planned education system, proper education in using chemical goods, birth control, proper distribution & use of natural resources."  

 

GOPALGONJ YMCA

A daylong youth seminar was held at Gopalgonj YMCA on the 4th May 2001 with the participation of about 40 youths. 'Rich environment is the pre-condition of sound life' was selected as the theme of the seminar. 
The participants made some proposals according to their discussion. It was -

* To dump chemical & industrial wastage in the specific areas
* To use four-stroke engine
* To continue tree plantation programme
* To develop awareness among the people.
