FLOOD SHELTER

LAID IN DINAJPUR YMCA

The 17th January of 2001 will be a red-letter day of Dinajpur YMCA. In the afternoon of the day, the foundation plaque of the proposed Flood Shelter of Dinajpur YMCA was unveiled through a simple ceremony. The then President of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh Mr. James Ruram adorned the Chief Guest’s chair. The ceremony was also put on glory with the presence of Mr. Symon P. Adhikary , the then Vice-President of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh, present Vice-President Mr. Dilip Marandi and Mr. Duncan Chowdhury, the National General Secretary as Special Guests. The ceremony was conducted by Mr. Subal S. Hasda, the General Secretary of Dinajpur YMCA and the President of the organization Mr. Abraham Hasda presided over the ceremony.

It is further remarkable that after completion of the building, the affected people shall be able to take shelter during natural disaster especially in flood and the rest of time, Dinajpur YMCA can run various social activities using the building. This building is being built with financial support from Tokyo YMCA.
