Youth Program in Norway

Chapel Gregory Gonsalves, member of Dhaka YMCA and Cournalious Ringku Biswas, member of Savar YMCA participated in the Youth Program in Norway to be held on 5-24 Augusgt 2005. Buskerud Region of the Norwegian YWCA-YMCA organized that program. They departed for Norway on 4 August 2005. Buskerud Region of the Norwegian YMCA-YMCA had arranged diversified programs to encourage and inspire the youth for new leadership. They emphasized to focus on the global issues and build up a common understanding on those; amongst the youth in different part of the world with a view to make a better society in their own context. Youth were privileged to participate in the following programs that were held one after another in Norway: Global Week, Challenge Course, Sightseeing, Global Run, Youth Leaders Training. Chapel and Cournalious came back to Bangladesh on the last 25 August 2005.

 After their return, they commented that it was an excellent program and they had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience on different purposes.

• Trafficking in women & girls

• Human Rights

• Group dynamics

• Team Building and

• Leadership

These were the important subjects that were discussed in different sessions in that youth program to touch and stirr up the youths.
