The partnership between the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh and the YWCA-YMCA Global has deep rooted within the last 3 decades. These two organizations are working together to bring a meaningful transformation in the society. They provide space to develop the youth leadership, recently these two organizations have been agreed for a long term youth exchange program. The duration of this program is one year but the posting period abroad is from September 2006 to April 2007, the remaining period as meant for orientation and preparation. The main objectives of this program are to encourage the youth for Just Leadership, understand multicultural trends and learn about global issues. |

Milton Shiplu Halder, Member of Dhaka YMCA had been nominated to participate in this program from Bangladesh YMCA. He participated in the preparatory course in Oslo, Norway from 15 August 2006. Now he is staying in the Tromso YMCA in the Tromso City, it is one of the coldest cities of the northern part of Norway. He operates a computer cafe for youths and assists many other programs that run by Tromso YMCA. |

Similarly, Ane Aamodt Aadland, member of YWCA-YMCA Norway was nominated by the YWCA-YMCA Global Norway to work as a volunteer with Bangladesh YMCA. After completing the preparatory course in Oslo, she arrived in Dhaka on last 7 September 2006 and will be staying here till April 2007. Now she is working to prepare a Informative Brochure on Non Formal Primary Education in Norwegian Language for the donor and well wishers of Norway besides she attends her Bangla Language Course. She has been participating in different programs by local YMCAs. She visited Foiljana YMCA; it is one of the rural YMCAs in Bangladesh and participated various programs of Dhaka YMCA. She is doing very well by accepting different challenges. She also contributed in organizing a the Gender and Leadership Development Seminar for the youth and facilitated sessions on Gender Issues. |
