Training on Preventive Health Care

for Mother and Children

     

With an aim to make aware the mothers about safe child delivery as well as to  impart nutrition facts of children to them, the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh has organized an intensive Training on “Preventive Health Care for Mother and Children” on 16-20 November 2003, at the YMCA Training Center, Savar.

 

The staff members of the Community Organizing Program who are  directly involved  with the women at the grass root level to ensure a positive change in their livelihood participated at  the training.  The National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh always emphasizes to develop the level of capacity of the staff members on these issues. 

 

At this moment, around 10,000 women are involved with the Community Organizing Program of the Bangladesh YMCAs as beneficiaries. While these staff members could reach at least 10,000 families, which  will be stepping towards progress with good health and economic growth at the same time. 

 

Qualified Trainers from Community Health and Natural Family Planning Center (CHNFP) of Caritas, Bangladesh conducted this Training Course. The components of the Training Course were :  

 

v    Preventive care for general diseases

v    Preventive Health Cares for Adolescent and Mother

v    Consciousness on Reproductive Health

v    Preventive Health Cares for Children

v    Nutrition

v    Immunization

v    Family Planning

 

21 members of the staff from different local YMCAs participated in this Training Course. At the end of the Training Course the National General Secretary distributed certificates amongst the participants. He earnestly requested to the participants to serve the people who are in need as Jesus served them and that is the ultimate goal of YMCA.
