Training Program for Community Organizing Staff Members

The National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh organized a Training Program on "Role of Facilitators in Community Development" particularly for the staff members our Community Organizing Program. It is held on June 24-28, 2003 in the YMCA Training Center, Savar. A total of 17 Staff Members from Barisal, Bogra, Birisiri, Chittagong, Dinajpur, Dhaka, Edilpur, Foiljana and Savar YMCAs participated at the Training.

The prime objective of this training was to increase the competence and capacity of our staff members so that they can overcome the challenges in delivering their services for the Program.

The major components of the Training Program was (i) Poverty and causes of poverty (ii) Development and process of Development (iii) Leadership and Group dynamics (iv) Motivation and techniques of motivation (v) Participatory Planning (vi) Role of a facilitator. Mr. Rupan Roy Chowdhury and Ms. Morsheda Mina are from Technical Assistance for Rural Development conducted the training program.
