Bible Seminar "Who Counts in the eyes of God?" |

National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh organized a Bible Seminar and Cultural Exchange Program focusing on the Theme: "Who Counts in the Eyes of God?" that was held on 6-8 October 2005 at YMCA Training Center, Savar. Twenty four youth form the different local YMCAs of Bangladesh and three participants from Buskerud Region of YWCA-YMCA, Norway participated in this seminar. Rev. Elling Erichsen, leader of Buskerud Region of YWCA-YMCA, Norway inaugurated and conducted the Bible seminar. In the opening speech Rev. Elling Erichsen told that Jesus came to love all human beings irrespective race, color and gender. He added that in God's eyes every life is precious, every life counts so he requested everyone to become a true follower of Jesus Christ through everyday action and thought. |

|
National General Secretary of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh facilitated a session on the topic:"The poor count in the eyes of God". He pointed out that there is enough food produces in the world but still four billion people are in starvation. He called the youth to open the eyes to see this discrimination and take the challenges to love the people with profound compassion through our action and cooperation to the poor. Rev. Elling organized the seminar with devotion, Bible study, sharing, acting, plenary session and various interesting games. The seminar ended with some strong commitment by the youths that they agreed to do for the poor.
It may be mentioned that the theme of the Bible Seminar was the same of the World YMCA-YWCA, World Week of Prayer 2005. After this Seminar the participants would be equipped to conduct the Prayer Meetings during the Week of Observance this year. |
