Agricultural Rehabilitation Program for 

Flood Victims in Local YMCAs

The YMCAs of Bangladesh always play an important role to mitigate the sufferings of the victims who are affected by natural calamities like floods and cyclones. Emergency relief and rehabilitation programmes are accomplished during & after the time of calamities. As a part of this programme, Barisal YMCA has completed an agricultural rehabilitation programme that reached to 500 families already who have been affected by the flood occurred in July 2004.

From 13^th – 14^th March ’05, Barisal YMCA distributed 5,000 Kilogram of paddy-seeds, 250 kilogram of vegetable-seeds and 7,500 kilogram of fertiliser amongst the poor families which consist of 2667 people.

On the other hand, Savar, Edilpur, Failjana YMCA have also completed Rehabilitation Programme and already distributed seed & fertiliser to several hundreds of affected families.
