Y Global, International Director visits Bangladesh

Eilert Rostrup, Director, YMCA-YWCA Global, of Norway came to Bangladesh for a goodwill visit on 26 January 2006. During his stay in Dhaka he visited National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh (NCYB) and discussed bilateral issues with Officers of the National Council.

During his visit,  the matter of Local Take Over Projects of the local YMCAs as well as the matter of establishing a campsite for the YMCAs was discussed. He visited various prospective locations closer to Dhaka City for the campsite. Marcel A. Gomes, President, NCYB also accompanied him.

During his visitation, one of his agenda was to learn about challenges of Christian community in the country. 

For the purpose, he met Rt. Rev. Bishop Theotonius Gomes of Dhaka Diocese, Dennis Dilip Datta, General Secretary, National Christian Fellowship of Bangladesh and Elgin Shaha, President, National Council of Churches of Bangladesh. 

He left Dhaka on 30th January 2006. The Norwegian YMCA-YWCAs have been supporting the development projects of the Bangladesh YMCAs for the last three decades.
