গত ৮ এপ্রিল ২০১১ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ’তে এক সদস্য উন্নয়ন কর্মশালার আয়োজন করা হয় । কর্মশালার শুরুতে শুভেচ্ছা জ্ঞাপন করেন বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ এর সভাপতি রেমন্ড আরেং। প্রারম্ভিক আরাধনা পরিচালনা করেন জাতীয় পরিষদের সাবেক সভাপতি ও বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ এর বোর্ড সদস্য জেমস্ রূরাম। প্রার্থনায় তিনি বলেন, খ্রীষ্টই হচ্ছে ওয়াইএমসিএ এর প্রেরনা তাই খ্রীষ্টের আদর্শ অনুসারে আমাদের কাজ করতে হবে। সদস্য উন্নয়ন কর্মশালা পরিচালনা করেন জাতীয় পরিষদের জাতীয় সাধারন সম্পাদক ডানকেন চৌধুরী এবং তাঁকে সহযোগিতা করেন জাতীয় পরিষদের এক্সিকিউটিভ সেক্রেটারী, বিপুল এলিট গনছালভেস। ডানকেন চৌধুরী বাংলাদেশ ওয়াইএমসিএ এর বর্তমান অবস্থা, লক্ষ্য এবং কৌশলগত পরিকল্পনার দিক-নির্দেশনা দান করেন। তিনি বলেন, লক্ষ্য স্থির, প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সম্ভাব্যতা এবং সামাজিক প্র্রাসঙ্গিকতাকে ভিত্তিমূল হিসাবে বিবেচনা করে কর্মপরিকল্পনা গ্রহন করতে হবে এবং তা বিশ্ব পরিকল্পনার সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ হতে হবে। পরিকল্পনায় নিজস্ব শক্তি, সম্পদ ও সামর্থকে অগ্রাধিকার দিতে হবে এবং আন্দোলন হিসাবে ক্ষমতায়ন ও মেধার উৎকার্ষোয়তনে বেশি কাজ করতে হবে। কর্মশালার মাধ্যমে সদস্যরা জাতীয় কৌশল পত্রের ১৩ টি অগ্রাধিকার থেকে বিরিশিরি ৯ টি লক্ষ্যকে নিয়ে কাজ করার জন্যে চিহ্নিত করেন। কর্মশালায় প্রায় ৩০ জন সদস্য উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
To encourage and in order to get involved in the YMCA, Birisiri YMCA organized a Membership Development Workshop on 8 April 2011 at Birisiri YMCA Conference Room. Mr. Ramond Areng, President of Birisiri YMCA inaugurated the Workshop. The workshop started with an opening devotion conducted by Pastor James Ruram, Member of the Executive Committee of Birisiri YMCA and former president of National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh. Pastor Ruram emphasized that Christ should be in the center of all YMCA activities and so we have to follow his ideals. The activities of the YMCA should be according to the teachings of Christ. The workshop was facilitated by Duncan Chowdhury, National General Secretary and Bipul Alite Gonsalves, Executive Secretary for Programs assisted him. Mr. Chowdhury shared the present situation of YMCA and the mission of the YMCA. He also explained about the Bangladesh YMCA Strategic Plan and how the local YMCAs were expected to materialize the plan. He underscored that Mission Clarity, Institution Viability and Social Relevance would be fundamental pillars to materialize the strategic plan, which is also part of the Global Operation Planning. Mr. Chowdhury urged the members to give priority for Movement Strengthening and Resource Mobilization. After the discussion on strategic objectives, the participants prioritized 9 targets out of 13 objectives which were prepared for local YMCAs. A total of 30 participants took part at the workshop. At the end of the workshop Mr. Ramond Areng, President of Birisiri YMCA gave thanks to all for their active participation and requested to be more active member and also fulfill their membership obligations.
বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ যুব সেমিনার
বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ এর যুব ফোরামের সদস্যদের মধ্যে নতুন উদ্দীপনা দান করার প্রয়াসে গত ৭ এপ্রিল, ২০১১ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ তে এক যুব সেমিনারের আয়োজন করা হয়। সেমিনারে বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএ এর সভাপতি রেমন্ড আরেং স্বাগত সম্ভাষনে বলেন, ওয়াইএমসিএ এর যুবরাই হচ্ছে প্রাণ। বিরিশিরি ওয়াইএমসিএকে ঢেলে সাজাতে যুবকদের আমি স্বাগত জানাই। ওয়াইএমসিএ এর প্রেক্ষাপট, লক্ষ্য-উদ্দেশ্য এবং দেশে-বিদেশে এর অবস্থান বিষয়ে বক্তব্য রাখেন জাতীয় পরিষদের জাতীয় সাধারন সম্পাদক ডানকেন চৌধুরী। তিনি যুবকদের উৎসাহ দিয়ে বলেন, যুব ফোরামের সদস্যদের ওয়াইএমসিএ এর সদস্য পদ গ্রহণ করতে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। ওয়াইএমসিএ বিশ্বব্যাপী পরিচিত এক সর্ববৃহৎ যুব আন্দোলন। যেখানে স্বেচ্ছাসেবার মাধ্যমে যুবকরা কাজ করছে। ওয়াইএমসিএ কি এবং কিভাবে যুবকরা এখানে সক্রিয় অবদান রাখতে পারেন এ বিষয়ে কর্মশালা পরিচালনা করেন জাতীয় পরিষদের এক্সিকউটিভ সেক্রেটারী বিপুল এলিট গনছালভেস। কর্মশালার মাধ্যমে যুব ফোরামের সদস্যরা আগামী এক বছরের জন্যে কর্মপরিকল্পনা প্রনয়ন করে। কর্মশালায় ৩০ জন যুবক-যুবতী অংশগ্রহণ করে।
Youth Seminar
To inspire the youngsters Birisiri YMCA organized a Youth Seminar on 7 of April 2011 at Birisiri Conference Room. Mr. Ramond Areng, President of Birisiri YMCA inaugurated the Seminar and mentioned that the young people are at the heart of the YMCA. We need youth cooperation and involvement to make our YMCA more active and vibrant, we welcome the youth to engage themselves in the Y movement. The National General Secretary Mr. Duncan Chowdhury shared the thrust of the YMCA. He encouraged the young people enroll as YMCA members. The YMCA is the largest voluntary youth movement around the globe. Volunteerism is our main strength. Mr. Bipul Alite Gonsalves, Executive Secretary for Programs facilitated session on meaning of the YMCA and how young people can play active role in the YMCA. During the seminar, youth members had drawn a draft action plan which they intend to execute in this year. It is worth to mention that recently Birisiri YMCA has formed a Youth Forum which has been endorsed by its Executive Committee. A total of 25 youth took part in this seminar.
