Barisal YMCA holds Worshop on Strategic Planning
       
       
 

With a view to strengthen  local leadership and develop a sustainable YMCA, Barisal YMCA held a Strategic Plan Workshop on 29 May 2010. The day long workshop started with a devotion lead by Mr. Rupchand Baroi, President of Barisal YMCA .  In his inaugural speech, Mr.Baroi welcomed all the members at the workshop and shared the overall situation of Barisal YMCA. Twenty key Members of Barisal YMCA participated at the workshop,  Mr. James Francis Biswas National Executive Committee Member also participated at the workshop.

 
               
  Mr. Bipul Alite Gonsalves, Executive Secretary for Programs, of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh  facilitated the workshop.  He also urged the members to get involved in programmes and activities of the YMCA. Mr. Gonsalves also shared the Global Operation Plan, which is the present strategy of the World Alliance of YMCAs for Movement Strengthening of the YMCAs world wide. The strategy was launched in 2002 at the 15th World Council of the YMCAs and the strategy is based on three  pillars namely: 1. Mission Clarity, 2. Institutional Viability and 3. Social Relevance.  Based on this pillars all the local YMCAs of Bangladesh will draw out own strategy plan for next three years 2011-2013.  
       
   

During the workshop the members of Barisal YMCA also had formed a Strategic Plan Committee consisting seven members and who would finalize the strategic plan in accordance to the workshop’s discussion and feedback. In the workshop the Members realized that the strategic plan would be based on their own ability and local resources. Mr. Manik Talukdar, General Secretary of Barisal YMCA conducted this day long workshop and gave thanks at the conclusion of the program.
