We are pleased to inform you that the National Executive Committee in their meeting held on July 18, 2008 has decided to reinstate Mr. Duncan Chowdhury as the National General Secretary of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh with immediate effect.
Please be informed that earlier Mr, Nirmal D’Costa had resigned from the position of the National General Secretary on personal grounds and we appreciate his contribution to the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh and wish him success in his future career.
Earlier, the National Executive Committee in their meeting held on July 5, 2008 had discussed and examined each of the allegations brought against Mr. Duncan Chowdhury at the NEC Meeting held on 27th & 28th April 2007. The Members found that these allegations were brought forth with ulterior motives and didn’t have any substance; these were not true and completely baseless. In such a situation they were unanimous to withdraw all these allegations against Mr. Duncan Chowdhury and deeply regretted for such an unwanted incident.
We hereby request all concerned to extend their support and cooperation to Mr.Chowdhury in carrying out his duties and responsibilities as the National General Secretary of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh from now on.
We pray to God the Almighty to give Mr. Chowdhury the necessary strength and guidance, so that he may lead the YMCA movement in Bangladesh in the path of prosperity through his dedicated service.
