A Training Program on "Leadership, Group Dynamics and Accounts Keeping" was held on August 25-28, 2001 at Bogra YMCA, organized by National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh for the staff members of "Empowering the Powerless through Community Organizing Program" . Project Managers, Community Organizers and Field Assistants of under this project of Bogra and Birisiri YMCA, participated at the Training Course, the Program Secretary of National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh, General Secretary and Finance Secretary of Bogra YMCA also participated at the Training Program. Mr. Dilip Marandi, Vice President of National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest of the Opening Session. In his welcome message he requested to the participants to be more skilled to take the challenges for Empowering the Powerless Women. He also said that women led the key role of the family so if the women could be empowered, undoubtedly the whole family, society and as well as the nation will be developed. Sekh Md. Abu Hassanat, Chief Cordinator and Md. Zahangir Alam, Administrative Officer of the Pally Unnayan Prokalpa, Bogra conducted the Training Program as a resource person. They discussed on different aspects to ensure the perfect leadership amongst the group members and to ensure their social and political empowerment. They discussed the process to make the groups more dynamic, asses the development of the group and also discussed about the necessary steps if there is any shortfall in the group activities which might be a barrier to attain the goal of the project. At the Closing Session the participants expressed their commitment that they will serve the people according to the vision of the YMCA. They will be dedicated to ensure the empowerment of the powerless women who are under the project accepting the challenges what was taken in 14th World Council Meeting of the World Alliances of YMCAs. Mr. Paul Besra, President of Bogra YMCA, was in the chair as a Chief Guest at the closing session of the Training Program. |
