Secretarial Training Conference

A two-day YMCA Secretarial Training Course titled 'Managerial Skill Development' was held in Bogra YMCA from June 22-23, 2001 through the initiative taken by the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh. The National General Secretary along with Local General Secretaries attended the course. Mr. Mike Paul, Consultant of Northern Ireland Health and Social Services, conducted the workshop. The key presentations of the speaker were designed in accordance with the following objectives:

Raise awareness of international donor financing for development 

Relate YMCA strategic objectives to finance sources
Explore international development issues and relate to Bangladesh

The Gender Development issue in the YMCA was also dealt at the workshop. Here it can be mentioned that in accordance of Challenge 21, the National Council of YMCAs of  Bangladesh has already embarked upon Gender Development activities. This Training Course will assist the participants specially to draw up plans and implementing Projects in promoting the right of women and work for gender justice throughout the local YMCAs in Bangladesh.
